At Kings’ School Al Barsha, we recognise that entering students on the correct pathway and for the most appropriate subjects is the first key step in ensuring academic success. This process starts with high quality careers advice for all Year 11 students.
We offer a wide range of A Levels and BTECs, and our students inevitably gain places at their first choice of university. In the summer of 2023, 33% of entries were awarded the top A*-A grade at A Level with 65% of entries achieving A*-B grades, positioning us 8% above the national average. Almost 50% of BTEC entries were awarded the top Distinction*.
True to Kings’ emphasis on the development of the whole child, Sixth Form students enjoy and benefit from a wide range of extra-curricular pursuits. From team sport to music and drama, from the Duke of Edinburgh Award to academic societies and overseas trips, our students grow their personalities, confidence, and leadership skills. They become adaptable, resilient and humble young men and women ready to take on the challenges of our ever-changing world.
All students in our Sixth Form have a tutor as well as a Head of Year, all working together with subject teachers to achieve the very best outcomes for the students. Some students receive additional support in our highly renowned Learning Support Department (LINK) and all benefit from the expertise of our Head of Futures when it comes to plotting the next steps of their careers. The Extended Project Qualification is just one of many opportunities in place for our students who want to pursue their academic passions beyond the confines of the syllabus.
The aim of the Sixth Form at Kings’ School Al Barsha is to prepare our students for the next steps of their exciting lives. We help them to become independent learners who have the skills and inquisitiveness to flourish at university and well beyond. Our graduates successfully apply to many of the most prestigious universities in the UK, USA, UAE, Canada, and Europe before embarking on careers across a wide range of occupations.
