Life At Kings

Extracurricular Interests

We have a rich and varied range of experiences, which seek to positively enrich our students' development, and to open their eyes to new possibilities while fostering our values of Kindness, Skills, Ambition, and Bravery. Non-academic achievements show that students have a positive attitude, that they are self-motivated, adaptable, and have skills in problem-solving, teamwork and communication.

We believe strongly that learning is not confined to the four walls of the classroom and, in fact, our best life-long memories are made beyond the campus, helping and supporting the wider community and enhancing students' understanding of the world around them. We continue to offer the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), both of which are held in extremely high regard by universities. In addition, we offer a comprehensive programme of extracurricular opportunities.

Opportunities

Instead of simply lessons followed by lunch, followed by more lessons and home, Kings’ provides a wide range of further opportunities, both academic and extracurricular; from football to dance, there’s something for every interest and ability.

We recognise the positive and transformational benefits that extracurricular opportunities bring to student development and our comprehensive programme of clubs is designed to nurture student's talents, to broaden their horizons, and to enable them to explore their passions beyond the scope of the curriculum.

Societies

We are proud to offer students the opportunity to partake in and lead our academic societies. The purpose of our societies is to provide opportunities for intellectual extension in their areas of interest with a view to developing their understanding of the career paths within their chosen fields.

Societies closely resemble a university seminar experience and are a powerful tool for preparing students for those environments. Each society provides its members with experience in communicating about their academic interest and the opportunity to challenge others. We are excited to offer societies in the following areas: Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Law, Economics, Politics, Psychology, Sociology, Literature, and Computer Science.
