Life At Kings’

We understand that employers and university admissions tutors are looking for students with extra qualities: non-academic achievements that show they have a positive attitude, that they are self-motivated, adaptable, and have skills in problem-solving, teamwork and communication. Kings’ offers endless opportunities; we believe strongly that learning is not confined to the classroom and, in fact, our best lifelong memories are made beyond the four walls of a classroom. Instead of simply lessons followed by lunch, followed by more lessons and home, Kings provides a wide range of further opportunities, both academic and extracurricular; from football to dance, there’s something for everyone. In addition to our extracurricular activities, we continue to offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is held in extremely high regard by universities, and the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.

Educational visits are an integral part of our curriculum here at Kings’ School Al Barsha. From Foundation Stage to Post-16, we have a rich and varied range of experiences, which seek to positively enrich our understanding and development, and to open our eyes to new possibilities. Our educational visits reinforce the academic curriculum while fostering our values of Kindness, Skills, Ambition, and Bravery.

In Kings’ Sixth Form, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to partake in and lead our academic societies. The purpose of our societies is to provide an inspiring platform so that they can explore their career interests beyond the curriculum. The aim is that societies closely resemble a university seminar experience, and are a powerful tool for preparing students for those environments, as well as providing the opportunities for intellectual extension in their areas of interest. Each society provides its members with experience in communicating about their academic interest, and the opportunity to challenge others. We are excited to offer societies in the following areas: Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Law, Economics, Politics, Psychology, Sociology, Literature, and Computer Science.
